About Us
Based outside Rye in Rye Harbour, Avocet Gallery is run by award-winning photographer Peter Greenhalf and former journalist Morgan.
The couple are passionate conservationists. Peter has photographed Sussex for many years. See his work at www.petergreenhalfphotography.co.uk. Morgan recently designed and wrote The Shingle Shore for Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and edited and designed The Bumblebee Conservation Trust's first book on bees. She is currently writing and designing a book about the Seaside Flowers of Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.
The Gallery
Near the beach and nature reserve, the gallery reflects our artists’ love of the natural world. Among the changing display of work by over 40 local contemporary artists and craftspeople, the gallery always shows Peter's traditional darkroom B&W landscape photographs, his brother Robert's celebrated bird linocuts and oils and linocuts by award-winning Fairlight printmaker Annie Soudain.
